Fly the Friendly Skies

Well, it's summer in Africa, but in Nairobi, Kenya that means about 23 degrees C (around 74 degrees F). Delightful!

Here's some pictures from the trip over here!

Somewhere over Libya! Does anyone know what these "crop circle" type items are? They were some sort of green circles growing in the middle of the desert! Weird!

Air Force One on the tarmac at London Heathrow Airport. No signs of the Chief. Or Harrison Ford.

There you have it folks.

From Africa, which I'm enjoying A LOT!

Hey, man! So glad you made it safely to Kenya. I'll be praying for you in the weeks and months ahead.

By the way, I looked up some info on those "crop circles" you saw from the airplane! Here's what I found out:

"[These 'crop circles' are actually] circular safe havens of water amid the vast Sahara Desert.

Farmers use central pivot irrigation, in which a centrally located well feeds a rotating set of sprinklers. Each of the circles seen [from your airplane] are about one kilometer wide, with the entire region spanning about 32 kilometers.

The Sahara Desert in northern Africa makes up most of Libya, with only six percent of the country’s land suitable for farming. Without permanent rivers or other bodies of water, the country depends on a vast supply of fossil aquifers containing large amounts of fresh water. Since 1983, Libya has worked on its Great Man-Made River Project to pipe in aquifer water to its populated coastal plains area."

Anyway, thought you'd be interested....

Be safe!

Peace,
Jonathan
