Contentment.
Contentment is a very boring word. In my mind it’s filed in the same category as the words mediocre, plain, and oatmeal. Not very exciting. Who would ever aspire to be “content”?
However, I think being content is one of the greatest and most challenging skills one can ever learn. We live in a world that lives on discontent. In fact, our economy thrives on it. Everywhere you turn there is someone saying that you’re life is okay… but you need to wear these jeans, drink this beer, eat this soup, read this book, listen to this music to be really good. It’s everywhere. You’re not quite smart enough, good looking enough, your girlfriend isn’t quite sexy enough.
Paul said that he had learned to be content no matter the situation. He said that when he was in prison. In prison for doing what he knew was right.
I’m fed, clothed, happy, with good family and friends, yet I somehow find a way to whine and complain about little things. Life is good; I just need to realize it much more often. I need to learn to be content with the life God has given to me right now.

I LOVED this entry Noel. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much for the reminder to enjoy the blessings that god has granted to us. I find that i am constantly wanting more, or that i feel like i NEED more, when really its just something that i WANT.
Sometimes you just need to be reminded to look for the simple things in life or as polyanna would say "play the glad game". ( i have no idea if you have seen that movie, but its a good one:) Well see yah in two months

Where do you learn contentment?
You are right our world feeds discontent. As you traveled the world the past year you have seen people that were content with very little while others who have much are miserable and discontent.
Where do you learn contentment?
From the models we give to our lives. Most of us learn best by watching models and examples. The models we focus on will teach us by their example.
I pray that God will always surround you with good models that challenge you to be content in doing your best to create a better world.
Proud of you and I love you lots.
