So what are you actually doing?

So what am I doing now? Good question. I kinda fell into (ok, God definitely led me to) an opportunity to head down south to the city of Davao in the Philippines. I've connected with a group that's a part of OMF working with the poorer communities in the city...

(Bucana where I spend much of my time)

(Isla Verde... on the water, but you probably do not want to be swimming in that water)

They have a whole range of projects and activities happening all aimed at serving these people. I'm working with a few youths/young adults in a project making sandals to sell in and around the community... and to you if you're interested (e-mail me if so!). The idea is to create a business that will be sustainable and not only provide them with some income, but help promote their general well-being: socially, emotionally, physically.

(A guys' outing... me, Ragib and Josan)

I'll be here until December 12, when I'll head to Manila and then to Toronto (followed by a trip to Houghton in the new year).

I just got your email (I really am working on one to send you) and am encouraged by the work the Lord is doing through you and the relationships you are building throughout SE Asia. What an amazing gift to be there.
matane! (see you soon) :)
