Valuable Lesson

I think one of the most valuable lessons I've been learning in traversing various countries and cultures is this:

Ask people, "How does it work in your country?" instead of telling people, "This is how it works in my country."

I think it's great to share how things work for us at home, people are interested in that, but not until you find out how things work where you are. Not that it matters because we all know our way really is best [FYI, sarcasm].
