I think the fact that I'm involved in working here helps to give a better sense of what life is really like here. It's definitely not all sunshine and lollipops (though there are a fair share of each of those). I'm learning that life here is, in fact normal. Just like it is at home.
I think my time in Asia has reduced some of the mystique surrounding the world off my continent and allowed me to see a glimpse of real life here. Life that may look different, but is still life... just like in North America. While my time in Asia has promoted interests I have in many things international, I think my time away has also allowed me to be more okay with living in North America if that's where God directs me now.
The itch to see life beyond my couple of borders is being scratched.
Now, enjoy some pictures from, well, my life!

Idol and me. Idol lives in a park where our group goes to visit several nights a week and just spend time with people there. While he's not smiling in the picture, he has an incredible joy that comes from the Lord God. He has an incredible story of being completely addicted to drugs and God pulling him from that life.

Yes, it's real! Ok... it's not.

Seaside Footwear. Our sandal "factory".

Random kids that ran up to me when they saw I had a camera. Proof of that... even as I type this two little girls run up to me and look at me while I'm typing on my laptop at the food court in the mall (the only place I've found with free wireless).

Possibly the cutest children ever.
