I feel as if I want to get passionate about something... I just don't know what!
AIDS?
Poverty?
Hunger?
Lack of education? Global warming? Death from preventable causes? Maltreatment of women? Maltreatment of children. Unemployment.Illiteracy.corruption.displaced people.unemployment.blood diamonds.people who don't speak english good.civil war.fair trade.fair trade coffee.murder.corporate greed.SUVs.sweat shops.wal-mart.food distribution.food.world peace.conflict.overpopulation.agriculture.pollution.diesel fumes.crime.children without food.children with guns.children without parents.children with parents who are awful.military.countries with no military.acid rain.green house gases.people with gas.killer whales.willy.rain forest.people who smoke.people who tell people not to smoke.Y2K (wait, we solved that one).UN.UNICEF.UNDP.WHO.IMF.WB.WWF.WWE. FDA.FAA.FYHP.SAT.
...And the list goes on!
I want to be passionate about something, but I feel like I don't even know where to start.
And then I had a sudden epiphany! What about, instead of getting passionate about the problems, we get passionate about the solution?
I can't say that I completely know or understand how, but I want to believe that Jesus is the solution bigger than any problems this world can fathom. There is a God who made the world and loves it in spite of its perversions and problems; in spite of the battles it's caused within itself. He's the answer to problems even greater than all of the above.
I want to get passionate about Jesus and see where he chooses to use me. I want to stand up for injustice and unfairness as he's called us to. We may not always know how, but we must choose to stand up for right and against wrong... but to always be passionate for Him as the answer amongst the problems.
I think.
