You Know You’re In Egypt When…
- You make sure you’re right with God before you attempt crossing the street
- You see the pyramids and think: “Oh, they’re still there.” (As if after standing for 4,500 years they’d just suddenly collapse)
- You go to buy a falafel and the shop only has signs in Arabic
- You go to buy a falafel. Period.
- You get a text message inviting you to a camel market
- The sum of the people making physical contact with you while riding the subway is greater than 5
- You are not surprised by the sight of a donkey cart on a roadway
- You pray hard every time you enter a taxi cab
- You can sort your money from most tattered to least tattered

About that blog a few entries back... the one entitle "Problem?"... I think your right. :)
Question... out of curiosity, how does it feel to be an Egyptian in Egypt? grins Silly question, I know, but my inane (only sometimes!) curiosity has gotten the best of me.
love ya Noel!
this is fantastic. i laughed out loud in the office (good thing no one was around). We always held hands when crossing the street...safety in numbers, I suppose. The most amazing thing is seeing children who put their hands out as they cross and have no doubt that it'll work.
The pyramid one made me think of my Egyptian friends that now live in the states. They say that one of the most frustrating things that people have ever said to them was "Egyptians still exist? I thought they all died in the Red Sea incident."
