More Random Musings of Noel

  • But why are there olives on everything?

  • There's a perfectly good sidewalk, away from the hideous traffic... and yet everyone walks on the road!

  • Before I left a lady wrote in an e-mail to me to "be safe" when I to travel to the Middle East. To be honest, I feel way safer walking around Cairo at night than I ever have in Toronto, my suburb of Markham, maybe even Houghton...

  • In fact I spoke to an Egyptian woman yesterday who said she was terrified when she was walking on a street while visiting Toronto on a Sunday afternoon and saw no one. So terrified she RAN all the way home. That's a shame really!

  • There really is dust EVERYWHERE!! Like collecting inside a closed laptop computer left alone for five days inside a room with closed windows!

  • I got an e-mail from a friend who's going to Ecuador.
I thought "Man, that's cool, I'd love to go to Ecuador."
    I realized I'm in Egypt.
I realized the grass really is greener on the other side!

That's so funny.... and to add to that, muslim people are very friendly in general, at least my bit of contact with them (although the guys can be too friendly... lol)
And about the sidewalk. you know perfectly well they aren't perfectly fine! I almost walked into a truck driving on the sidwalk as I was dodging a piece of re-bar sticking out! (well, those might not have happened in the same moment..) funny.
